Hello Rising 9th Grade Students and Parents:
 
This website has been designed to help support current WMS 8th grade students during the recommendation and registration process for the 2020/2021 school year. In addition, the Virginia Department of Education Graduation Requirements FAQ website has lots of information about graduation requirements for those of you who are sending a child to high school for the first time.

 

Below, you will find some useful links to help assist you in the transition process:

 

 
Interested in applying to MESA, HMSA, ESA, and/or Murray High School? Applications for the Academies and Murray will be available on Novemeber 25th and are due January 24th! Please check links below for important information and dates.
  • MESA- Math and Engineering Science Academy at AHS
  • HMSA-   Health and Medical Science Academy at MHS

Letter sent to all WMS parents explaining transition process.
Note: Parents of 8th graders will be asked to schedule appointments for Jan/Feb.

Open Houses for Academies:
HMSA: Nov 14th 5 to 6:30 PM
MESA: Dec 5th 5 to 7 PM
ESA: Dec 4th 5:30 to 7 PM
December 4, 2019

MHS Curriculum EXPO from 6 to 7 PM in MHS Gym
December 8, 2018-January 4, 2019


Dec 13 to Dec 17, 2019


January 16 - February 28, 2020
High school registration meetings begin for rising 9th grade students. Please contact Ms. Karen Collier at WMS for an appointment. 434-977-6533
March 1, 2020
All recommendations and registration to be completed.

March 24th, 2020

8th Graders visit MHS

March 22nd, 2020
