ACE Mentor Club
Architecture, Construction, & Engineering
The ACE Mentor Program is a free, after-school program which brings together students interested in Architecture, Construction and Engineering, and professionals from the field. ACE teams are formed in all three of the county comprehensive high schools (Monticello, Western and Albemarle). Each team is set up to emulate an actual design team, with students guided through a mock design project by their architect, engineer, and construction management mentors. Mentors guide the students as they work towards a final project, introducing them to the careers, industry vocabulary, and various roles companies play in the construction industry.
The ACE program began at Monticello High School during the 2007-08 school year. See below for information about the student projects in recent years.

They presented their project to all the ACE teams, parents and business leaders on May 12th. Delegate Rob Bell attended and was very impressed with the opportunities the students were given through ACE and also their project designs. Students received an ACE participation certificate and ACE T-Shirt. Three scholarships were awarded. Unfortunately, none to MHS Students. Maybe next year!!
