Meeting dates, times, and places for 2013-14: Chorus Room, 1st Monday of each month during Mustang Morning
To be eligible to join Tri-M, a student must:
• be enrolled in and stay enrolled in a MHS performing music class
• Remain in good standing in all music classes
• Embody leadership and commitment to the MHS music community.
Perform for the Tri-M committee
*Membership is open to all music students who are currently enrolled and will continue to be enrolled in performing music classes here at MHS. Students may apply or be invited for membership in Tri-M. All students will fill out an application form, which includes references from MHS music and academic teachers. Students applying for membership will be required to perform at least one Tri-M meeting.
To remain an active member in good standing, a member must:
? Attend monthly meetings during Mustang Morning (run by officers)*
o Meetings will be held once a month on the first Friday of the month during Mustang Morning. Members must attend all meetings and check news provided by officers and the sponsor throughout the year. If a student misses a monthly Tri-M meeting the student must make up the time in an additional 2 hours community service per missed meeting.
? Participate in community music events as a volunteer.
o Minimum requirement: 10 community service hours during the year. These projects may include participating as a musician in concerts, ushering at concerts, planning and helping with fundraising for a music ensemble, assisting in music classrooms or tutoring.
? Remain enrolled and in good standing in the student’s MHS performing music class.
Students must satisfy both attendance and community service requirements to earn a Tri-M honor cord and mention as a Tri-M member in the 2014 graduation program.
