Objective 3.3, Strategy 1, of Learning for All states:

ACPS will provide operational infrastructure that removes barriers and promotes access to all division programs for all students.

The following work around this strategy was completed in the 2021-22 school year:

• This strategy will begin implementation in the 22-23 school year

Objective 3.3, Strategy 2, of Learning for All states:

ACPS will remove transportation as a barrier to participation in any division program.

• Bus driver recruitment and retention efforts included sign on and retention bonuses and job fairs, pop-up community recruitment events
• Transportation is provided to programs at high schools that are not the student’s base school (academies, Center 1, CATEC, Community Lab)
• ARP funding was leveraged to purchase vans for all elementary schools to promote participation in after school programming and tutoring.  Supply chain issues delayed arrival, but vans were delivered Fall 2022

Objective 3.3, Strategy 3, of Learning for All states:

ACPS will begin an education foundation which includes a goal of equitably funding supplemental school budgets.

The following work around this strategy was completed in the 2021-22 school year:

• Established a steering committee to develop a process to begin creating an ACPS-specific education foundation
• Hired a foundation creation consultant to assist with the process
• Drafted foundation bylaws and appointed a Governing Board of Directors
• Scheduled regular update meetings with School Board members

Objective 3.3, Strategy 4, of Learning for All states:

ACPS will develop a staffing standard for all positions in ACPS and staff to the standard, and ensure that staffing is aligned to the goals of the strategic plan.

The following work around this strategy was completed in the 2021-22 school year:

• Developed a template that documents all positions and current staffing standard if available
• Formed a staffing standard committee that reviews standards on a regular cycle to include recommendations based on  industry benchmarks, stakeholder feedback, and evidence/research based metrics

Objective 3.3, Strategy 5, of Learning for All states:

ACPS will develop a process to assign staff with demonstrated successful outcomes to students in the most need.

Work around this metric will begin during the 2022-23 school year.

Objective 3.3, Strategy 6, of Learning for All states:

ACPS will ensure each learning space, teacher, and student has the established baseline digital resources for effective instruction and learning K-12.

The following work around this strategy was completed in the 2021-22 school year:

• Identified baseline resources for hardware in all general education classrooms
• Created the 2021-22 Digital Equity Report to identify the current state of hardware and software resources in the school division in order to illustrate gaps available in tools for students
