Important Update
The 2024-25 School Year Calendar was revised on January 9, 2025, as follows:
- Friday, January 10, will be a flexible teacher workday. Teachers may work from home or in school buildings starting at 10 a.m., if able.
- The teacher workday previously scheduled for Friday, January 17, will now be a regular school day. This change prioritizes getting students back in school following closures due to inclement weather and helps reduce the need for additional makeup days.
- Friday, January 17, will now be the last day of the second quarter.
The 2024-25 School Year Calendar was approved by the Albemarle County School Board on January 25, 2024, and revised on January 9, 2025, in response to missed days due to inclement weather. The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 21, 2024, and the last day of school for students is Friday, June 6, 2025.

Approved 2025-26 School Year Calendar
At the school board meeting on Thursday, November 14, 2024, the school board approved the proposed 2025-26 calendar and confirmed the decision to adopt earlier start and end dates for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 school years.
