Full-time medical and dental!

There are many reasons to drive with ACPS, but some of the highlights are:

  • Paid CDL training for applicants who do not currently have a CDL license!
  • Starting pay: $23.76 per hour. (Beginning in 2026-27, starting pay will increase to $24.43 per hour.) Our drivers are paid on a step scale, meaning starting pay may be higher depending on prior experience driving with a CDL!
  • Full-time medical and dental benefits for drivers who work at least 20 hours a week!
  • Virginia Retirement System (VRS) eligibility for drivers who work at 30 hours a week!
  • Save money on daycare by bringing your children along for the ride!
  • Our drivers also have a great opportunity to make a positive impact on our community and students!

Some of our drivers average 7 or 8 hours per day from their routes alone and most average 6 to 7. Additional hours are usually available through field trips, athletic trips, after-school trips, weekend and Saturday programs, summer school and programs that run through winter and spring breaks.

The typical daily schedules for our drivers is from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. for morning routes, a break in the middle of the day and afternoon routes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Our drivers are 10-month employees and start the week before school starts and end the day after school ends.

Don't Take It From Us, Take It From Our Drivers!
