Making the Most of Screen Time

Screen time is unavoidable, but not all screen time is created equally. The Department of Technology has created this #ScreenSmarts campaign to help your student make the most of screen time. Through scholarly research on screen time amongst young children, we have compiled the suggestions below on how to best engage in screen time as it relates to physical health, cognition, and behavior.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines for screen time are an excellent resource for learning about healthy screen time habits and building a media plan with your student. Read the AAP guidelines for children ages 0 to 5 and adolescents ages 5 to 18.
