The Central Technology Administration team oversees all aspects of the Department of Technology. This team coordinates, facilitates and performs all tasks needed to affect comprehensive integration of appropriate technology into every facet of the operations of the ACPS school division, including procurement, budget, communication, management.

The Enterprise Applications team maintains and administers many of the division’s core systems, which include such items as application administration, account provisioning and management, and security. The team also works behind the scenes to keep data organized and flowing between those systems.

Learning Tech fosters collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and citizenship through the use of digital tools and resources in the classroom. LTIs partner with instructional staff, students and administration within assigned schools through collaborative planning, modeling, reflecting and co-teaching. In addition, LTIs provide individual, job embedded, small and large group professional learning. They work collaboratively with school administrators to support school-wide goals. Additionally, LTIs promote the responsible use of technology and support digital citizenship in a school community.

Infrastructure and Support Services is a centralized core technology team that supports the School Division and Albemarle County’s technology needs. Our team researches, engineers, implements, and maintains numerous systems that include but are not limited to: Cellular, LTE Broadband and Wireless mobile devices, End-User Software, Configurations and Images, Ticketing, Asset Tracking and Monitoring, VoIP Communications, LAN/WAN Infrastructure, Threat Protection, Data Center and Infrastructure Operations, Core Systems, Centralized Software, Licensing, and Service Desk Tasks. This team works together to deliver the highest quality customer su​pport and technology infrastructure while providing a safe, secure, and reliable environment for all staff, students, and community members within Albemarle County Public Schools.

Technology Support Specialists are the front-line technology support for about 19,375 computers and over 531 printers and copiers. We cover 25 schools and 7 support service sites with 15 Technology Support Specialists. We are primarily responsible for hardware, software, and peripheral support for staff and students along with basic networking, user training and server support. It is our mission to provide a stable learning environment with minimal technical interruptions.
