School Safety and Security

Mission

The Office of School Safety and Security supports all Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) students, families, and staff. Serving a diverse division of over 14,000 students and more than 2,800 employees across rural, suburban, and urban communities, the office works to promote a safe, welcoming learning environment in every school.

Our mission is to build strong relationships with students, families, staff, community partners, and law enforcement; increase awareness of safety practices; and empower everyone in our schools to play an active role in maintaining safety, security, and personal well-being.
