Teacher & Participant Overview

The Professional Learning Management System (PLMS) houses internal ACPS professional development course registration as well as recertification transcript information. Within this system, users can also submit recertification forms and apply for course and conference reimbursements (PDRP).

As a user, you can:

Register for ACPS Internal PD Offerings
Submit Requests for Recertification Points to Human Resources
Request Course and Conference Reimbursement (PDRP)
Review your Transcript and Recertification Points

How to Search for Courses

Search for a Course

Click the "Courses" tab along the top of the screen.

Basic Course Search

Within the Courses tab, in the "Course Search" section, enter a search term.

Note: You can search by course number, course title, course description, section number, section title, section notes, and instructor name.
Click Search.
A list of all courses matching the criteria and accessible to you displays.

Advanced Course Search

In the Course Search channel, click Advanced Search.
Complete the form, then click Search.
A list of all courses matching the criteria and accessible to you displays.

Browse All

In the Course Search channel, click Show All.
A list of all courses accessible to you displays.

Search by Tags

Locate the Find Courses by Tags section.
Click the desired category.
A list of all courses aligned to the subject and accessible to you displays.

Course Catalog Results

The course catalog listing includes the following:

(A) Narrow the list by subject tag, category and more using the checkboxes on the left. Once selections are made, click Reset or Reset All to remove the choices.
(B) Click a thumbtack to mark a course (called pinning) for filtering using the button at the top of the list. (This is a great way to save a course for viewing later.)
(C) Re-sort the list.
(D) The course type is designated.
(E) Click on course title to view its details.
(F) If the course is required for any badges, click the link to view the associated badge list.
(G) Click Credit to view all possible credit types for the course.
(H) If enabled for your district, see the rating given by other participants.
(I) Based on the course type, you will be provided a link to register, join, or view the course. See Register for a Course for more details.

How to Register for Courses

Register for an Instructor-Led Course

For an instructor-led course, you will register for a specific section. Sections for each course indicate a specific period(s) of time that the course will be offered.

Click a course or section title to view additional details. (Click i for a quick preview of section details.) The number of seats available for each section will be displayed.
Click Register for the desired section.
Confirm the section information, then click Next to continue.
If the course offers more than one credit type, you will be prompted to choose the credit you want to earn for the course. Then click Next.
Once registration is successful, the confirmation screen will appear.
- Select My Course List to view a list of courses for which you’ve registered.
- Select Course Search to search for additional courses.
- Select Click here to link your Professional Development calendar to your personal calendar.

Register for a Self-Paced Course

For a self-paced course type, registration will depend on the course setup. These courses will not have sections with specific dates & times tied to them.

Click a course title to view additional details.
There will be a direct link to the course materials, either via a linked title or View Resources.
Once you click Start on the resulting page or click on a resource to view it, you are automatically enrolled in the course.

Join a Wait List

Once a course has reached its maximum enrollment, it will be designated as Full. If the course creator enabled a waitlist, click Join Waitlist. You will be enrolled if a registered participant withdraws or if the instructor decides to override the max course enrollment setting.

How to Withdraw from a Course

Withdraw from a Registered Course

Access your My Courses channel. This can be done from the home page or the course catalog page.
Locate the course from which you wish to withdraw and click the withdraw icon.
Click Withdraw again to confirm.

Withdraw from a Wait List

Access your My Courses channel. This can be done from the home page or the course catalog page.
Click View All.
Click the Wait List tab.
Locate the course from which you wish to withdraw and click the withdraw icon.
Click Withdraw again to confirm.

Withdraw from a Playlist

Access your My Courses channel. This can be done from the home page or the course catalog page.
Locate the playlist from which you wish to withdraw. You may need to click View All to access your playlist dashboard.
From the playlist action menu, choose Withdraw.
Click Withdraw again to confirm.

Note: If no withdraw action is present, only the playlist moderator can remove participants from that playlist.

How to Take Post-Course Surveys

Take a Survey

To access your surveys, return to the Course tab.
Locate the My Surveys channel.
Once a course is completed and the participant is marked complete, a survey will appear in this list. Click Start Survey.
Complete the survey form. If the form contains more than one category, click Record & Go to Next Category. Otherwise, click Record & Return to Menu.
A status summary of the survey will display. If necessary, click a category name to complete it.
