Participants will explore the “why” of the inquiry design model as the primary instructional vehicle for teaching Social Studies. These inquiry units are required for all K-5 teachers as the core component of the guaranteed viable curriculum in Social Studies. This session will focus specifically on K-2. Please note: If you attended this session in the summer, you do not have to attend this one. |

The tutorials should take approximately three hours to complete. Certification Tutorials are self-paced and can be completed on your own schedule, although we wanted to give you time to complete during the pre-service days. Progress will be saved as the educator moves through the tutorials. The tutorial concludes with the Certification Quiz. Passing the Certification Quiz (score of 90%) is HIGHLY recommended, but not required, for each individual who will administer VALLS: K-3.
