2021-22 School Meals

Each school day, Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) offers two options for families to access school meals:

  1. We provide meals on-site to students when they are learning in our buildings.
  2. We offer a School Meal Pickup Program whereby families may arrive at any of our service sites during designated times to pick up meals.

School meals are currently provided free of charge, regardless of income level.

On-Site Meals

When learning in our school buildings, all students are eligible to receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch. Currently, school meals are delivered to students in their classrooms, and meals are eaten in classrooms or outside.

On-site meal service will be provided this summer from July 6-30, 2021, for students who are participating in summer school.

School Meal Pickup Program, Summer 2021

This summer, our School Meal Pickup Program will operate from July 6-30, Monday-Friday. Meals will be available to all students and siblings ages 18 and under free of charge, regardless of income level, at six locations throughout the county.

Families may arrive at any service site listed below during the designated times to pick up meals, including a lunch for today and a breakfast for tomorrow; no registration needed. Meals may be picked up by the student or their representative. During pickup, we ask that you wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

School Meal Pickup Program, 2021-22 School Year

For the 2021-22 school year, school meals will continue to be provided free of charge, regardless of income level, to all students. In addition to providing meals to students who are learning in our schools, we will operate our School Meal Pickup Program for virtual students. We will not offer a school bus meal delivery option during the 2021-22 school year.

Pickup locations and times will be announced prior to the start of the 2021-22 school year.
