Albemarle County Public Schools is actively searching for a outstanding candidate to fill the role of Assistant Superintendent for Instruction.

The Assistant Superintendent for Instruction provides leadership and coordination for Pre-K through 12 curricular, assessment and instructional programs, and ensures the full implementation of division curriculum, assessment, and instruction model in alignment with our strategic plan, Learning for All. This position also ensures that our division aligns with key levers of the Virginia Standards of Learning, ACPS Framework for Quality Learning, Professional Learning Community Model and Educator Performance Appraisal. In additional, this role oversees our division's Instructional Coaching model, as well as instructional programming, Special Education and Student Services, Federal Programs, Intervention and Home School.

In order to complete a nationwide search for outstanding candidates, ACPS has partnered with McPherson & Jacobson to help fill the vacancy. The hiring process will include seeking stakeholder input from a variety of sources.
