Topping Out Ceremony Celebrates Milestone at ACE Academy – Lambs Lane Campus

What:

The structural frame at the new Albemarle Career Exploration (ACE) Academy – Lambs Lane Campus has reached its highest point! Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS), Jamerson-Lewis Construction, and Quinn Evans will mark this construction milestone with a Topping Out Ceremony celebrating the completion of the building’s exterior steel structure. An American flag will be raised to commemorate the occasion.

Why:

The new Albemarle Career Exploration Academy will serve up to 400 students daily, offering hands-on learning in fields such as culinary arts, engineering, and biomedical health. Designed by Quinn Evans and constructed by Jamerson-Lewis Construction, the 60,000-square-foot facility will expand ACPS’ Scholars Studios, providing flexible lab and studio spaces that promote career exploration and innovation. Targeting LEED Silver certification, the building will feature geothermal energy, rooftop solar panels, and other sustainable design elements that align with Albemarle County’s environmental goals.

Photo & Interview Opportunities:

Media will have access to document public remarks, capture key moments such as the beam placement, and conduct brief interviews with school division leaders, architects, and project representatives.
