Special School Board Meeting on February 4: Superintendent Will Present Recommendation on Whether Division Should Move to Stage 4 of Its Return to School Plan

The Albemarle County School Board will hold a special meeting next Thursday, February 4, at 6:30 p.m. This virtual meeting will be available to the public via live stream.

The purpose of the meeting will be to receive a recommendation from the school division’s Superintendent, Dr. Matthew Haas, on whether the division should transition to Stage 4 of its Return to School Plan. The School Board will review the recommendation and make its decision during their regular business meeting on Thursday, February 11.

Details on the various stages of the school division’s Return to School plan can be found on the Stages of Returning web page. Information specific to Stage 4, including an instructional planning guide and answers to frequently asked questions, is featured on the Stage 4 Plan web page.

As a special board meeting, the agenda will be limited to the Superintendent’s recommendation. The agenda will not provide for public comment, although members of the community can offer their views to School Board members at any time by emailing schoolboard@k12albemarle.org.
 
Community members will have the opportunity to offer public comment during the February 11 meeting by using the Public Comment link on the School Board homepage to register. The sign-up period for the February 11 meeting begins on Monday, February 8, and will close at 2 p.m. on February 11.
