NEWS RELEASE
(ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Virginia)—For the second year in a row, Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) is offering local businesses an exciting platform to inspire the future workforce by showcasing their trades to eager ninth-grade students.
The division’s Pathway Exploration Day empowers students to explore a wide range of career opportunities, paving the way for their future success. For local businesses and organizations, this day provides a unique chance to ignite a passion for your industry, strengthen community ties, and cultivate future talent by hosting between 30 and 40 ninth-grade students for a tour of your business.
“This event is an incredible opportunity for our students to connect with industry leaders and forge meaningful relationships with local employers, opening doors to future career paths and invaluable networking experiences,” said Amber Roberts, the division’s Work & Community-Based Learning Curriculum Coordinator.
Participating businesses will host students for about two hours, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., on October 15, 2024. During the visit, students will have the opportunity to observe what the day-to-day work looks like and what makes that industry special.
ACPS invites local businesses and organizations to join us in this exciting event and inspire the next generation of talent. If you’re interested in participating, please complete our Pathway Day Host Interest Form by September 15, 2024, to get involved.
“This event is more than just a learning experience; it’s a powerful collaboration that ensures our students and businesses thrive together,” Roberts added.
