ACPS Recognizes 2025-26 Retirees at School Board Meeting

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — At its May 14 meeting, the Albemarle County School Board recognized nearly 60 employees retiring from Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) this school year.
The retirees include classroom teachers, administrators and other staff members from schools and departments across the division. Superintendent Matthew Haas praised the group for the lasting impact they made on students and the community.
“We are incredibly grateful for the years of tireless service these professionals have given to our schools,” Haas said. “Their dedication has shaped the lives of countless students and strengthened our entire division. We wish them the very best as they begin this next chapter.”
School Board Chair Rebecca Berlin echoed Haas’ sentiments.
“The heart of our school system is its people, and saying goodbye to such an esteemed group is bittersweet,” Berlin said. “These individuals have not only been colleagues but mentors and pillars of support for our students and families. Their influence will be felt in our classrooms long after they have moved on to their next adventures.”
The following individuals were recognized for retiring from ACPS during the 2025-26 school year:
