ACPS Appoints New Chief Technology Officer

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. — At its May 14 meeting, the Albemarle County School Board appointed Jamie Foreman as the next Chief Technology Officer for Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS).

Foreman has served as the division's Deputy Chief Technology Officer since 2018 and, before that, held several positions within the Department of Technology since joining ACPS in 2010, including Instructional Technology Specialist, Coordinator of Instructional Technologies and Director of Learning Technologies.

“Jamie’s deep commitment to our Department of Technology is one of the many strengths that make him an exceptional leader for ACPS,” Superintendent Matthew Haas said. “His insight into how technology can best serve our students, staff and families will be invaluable to our community.”

Foreman said that comprehensive integration of technology into division operations and relationship-building with students, staff and families alike are his main goals as he steps into this position.

“As Chief Technology Officer, I am committed to ensuring our technology systems and services are secure, reliable and responsive to the evolving needs of our students, staff and families.” Foreman said. “I look forward to leading this team as a trusted partner to our schools — one that listens carefully, serves faithfully and works every day to support teaching, learning and operational excellence across the division.”

Along with his 16-year career at ACPS, Foreman also brings a classroom perspective from his time teaching 6th- and 7th-grade language arts and science in Fluvanna County Public Schools.

Foreman succeeds Dr. Christine Diggs, who will be retiring at the end of the school year. Foreman will take the helm of the Department of Technology on July 1, 2026.
