Now Open: 2026-27 ACPS Preschool Applications

Dear Families,

Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) is now accepting applications for our 2026-27 preschool program.

Children who will turn 3 or 4 years old by September 30, 2026, may be eligible for this free program. Placement priority is given to 4-year-olds.

We are expanding preschool access for 2026-27 through our partnership with the United Way of Greater Charlottesville. New preschool classrooms will open at Mountain View Elementary and Baker-Butler Elementary. Together, ACPS Preschool and Early Childhood Special Education will serve more than 300 eligible families next year.

Who Can Apply

Families must:

• Live in Albemarle County
• Meet federal or state income guidelines or other eligibility criteria

We encourage all eligible families to apply. If you know a family with an eligible child, please share this information with them.

Program Details

• Full-day program (Monday–Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)
• Follows the ACPS 2026-27 school year calendar
• Play-based learning environment
• Nutritious meals provided
• Support from a ReadyKids Family Advocate

Please note: Extended-day or after-school care is not provided.

How to Apply

Complete the online application at Go2Grow.org. Families submit one application and are considered for all eligible programs.

The online application is available in multiple languages. Paper applications are available in English and Spanish.

You will need:

• Proof of income (2025 tax return, W-2, or three consecutive pay stubs)
• Proof of residence (current lease or mortgage statement)
• Proof of child’s age (birth certificate, birth letter, or I-94)
