Summer learning programs provide students with a safe, supervised environment; academically enriching activities; healthy snacks and meals; and caring and supportive teachers and mentors! Tune in on February 12 to learn about the variety of fun and engaging learning opportunities available to K-8 students this summer, including specific details and registration information!

We’ll be joined by multiple community partners, including Boys & Girls Club, C4K, M-Cubed, Starr Hill Pathways, and YMCA, that will talk about the specific summer offerings available to students this summer. We’ll discuss topics like academics, fine arts, social and emotional supports, and recreational activities. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions using Zoom’s Q&A feature.

Summer learning provides students with an opportunity to learn at their own pace, which boosts confidence and sets up students for success as they prepare to start a new school year. We hope you can join us on February 12 to learn more about these exciting opportunities!

Presentation panelists will include:

  • Kate Lambert, CEO, Boys & Girls Club
  • Chelsea Park, Pathways Coordinator, C4K
  • James Watson, 100 Black Men of Central Virginia, M-Cubed
  • Lucy Montalvo, Director, Starr Hill Pathways
  • Bonita Patton, VP of Youth Development, YMCA

Dr. Daphne Keiser, Assistant Superintendent for School Community Engagement, will open the session, and Dr. Eric Irizarry, Director of Equity, Family, School and Community Relations, will moderate the discussion.
