Albemarle County Public Schools’ Extended Day Enrichment Programs (EDEP) will open registration for the 2024-25 school year this month! The number of students EDEP is able to serve will be determined by staffing availability and the space provided by each school.
2024-25 Program Details
EDEP serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade who are currently enrolled in an Albemarle County elementary school. Children must be at least 5 years old to attend. Based on the 2024-25 School Year Calendar, EDEP plans to offer the following programs:
- Our After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) will operate each full school day at every elementary school from the time school is dismissed until 6 p.m. Attendance options include full-time (4-5 days per week) and part-time (1-3 days per week). ASEP does not operate on half-days.
- Our Full Day Programs include both our Student Holiday Program (SHP) and our Remote Learning Day Enrichment Program (RLDEP):
- The Student Holiday Program will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on days when students do not have school but teachers are working a full day. The program will be hosted at Agnor-Hurt Elementary School with one exception: On November 5, 2024 (election day), SHP will be hosted at Greer Elementary School.
- The Remote Learning Day Enrichment Program will operate on remote learning days as determined by the ACPS superintendent. The program will be hosted at Greer Elementary School from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (For more information about the possibility of remote learning days, please visit our Closings, Delays & Early Dismissals web page.)
Registration & Enrollment
If you are interested in registering for EDEP for the 2024-25 school year, please visit the EDEP Registration web page anytime during the timeframe specified below for your child’s school and complete our Student Information Form:

Space in EDEP’s child care programs is limited. Based on the capacity at each school, EDEP will use the completed Student Information Forms and a random selection process (lottery drawing) to enroll students in our programs. Please note that submitting a Student Information Form does not guarantee enrollment. Families will be notified of the enrollment status of their child(ren) according to the following schedule:
- Registration Group 1: Notifications will be sent on May 17.
- Registration Group 2: Notifications will be sent on May 24.
Students who do not receive a spot in our program will be added to a waitlist in the order in which their names are drawn.
Once families receive confirmation of enrollment, registration fees are due according to the following schedule:
- Registration Group 1: Fees are due by 11:59 p.m. on May 21.
- Registration Group 2: Fees are due by 11:59 p.m. on May 28.
Note: No registration fee is due if your child is placed on a waitlist.
Registration Fees & Tuition Rates
Program Registration Fees: (one-time, non-refundable)
- After School Enrichment Program: $50
- Full Day Programs: $30
Monthly Tuition Rates: (10 monthly billing cycles)
- After School Enrichment Program:
- Full-time: $340 per month (amounts to $19.32 per day for 5 days per week)
- Part-time: $246 per month (amounts to $23.30 per day for 3 days per week)
- Full Day Programs: $65 per day
