ACPS in the News - July 2022

Albemarle High's Pollinator Habitat Club aims to beautify the AHS campus with gardens that sustain native pollinators. The group recently received a green grant that will help the club construct a rain barrel system that will allow them to water the plants more sustainably.

Delegate Rob Bell held a ceremony recognizing community members who he calls “Citizen Lawmakers” for their help in crafting bills that were approved during the General Assembly and made into law. Among the honorees were several ACPS staff members who helped craft bills on emergency inhalers in all Virginia schools as well as two transportation bills aimed at making recruiting school bus drivers easier.

This summer, students from Albemarle and surrounding counties came together to learn the art of jazz. Students had the opportunity to learn from and play with other local jazz musicians and at the end of the week put together a jazz concert to show off what they learned.
