ACE Academy Lambs Lane Project Updates

We are excited to share that the ACE Academy at Lambs Lane project will be transitioning to its next phase of construction. Beginning Monday, October 6th, a significant portion of the new parking lot will be opened for use by Albemarle High School. The remaining section of this parking lot will be completed next summer, when one of the learning cottages is able to be relocated. See the latest photos of this exciting progress below!

This photo provides a view from the south corner of the parking lot. The building in the back of the photo is Albemarle High School's gymnasium. Next summer the parking lot will be expanded north towards the school to provide additional parking spaces and a new entrance from Lambs Lane.

This next phase of construction will begin with the drilling of geothermal wells. These wells are a critical component of the sustainable and efficient HVAC system that will serve the new school. On Monday, October 6th, the contractor will begin mobilizing on-site and anticipates drilling beginning on the week of October 13th. Unfortunately, this work will be noisy due to the drilling equipment needed to reach the required depths of each well. This work is expected to continue over the next few months with an anticipated completion in January of 2026. We apologize for the inconvenience this work may cause, but are appreciative of the understanding and support shown as ACPS works to deliver this new school facility for the community.
