Mitigation Strategies

Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) has updated our COVID-19 mitigation strategies based on the Respiratory Virus Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), released on March 1, 2024.

We will continue to update our strategies, as needed, based on guidance from the CDC, the Virginia Department of Health (VDH), the Blue Ridge Health District (BRHD), and local medical professionals.

Questions?

  • Parents/Guardians: Please contact your child’s school nurse if you are not sure whether to send your child to school due to illness symptoms or if you have other questions about our mitigation strategies.
  • School-Based Employees: Please contact your school nurse or the ACPS Coordinator of Nursing and Health Services, Eileen Gomez, if you need help determining whether you should report to work due to illness symptoms or if you have other questions about our mitigation strategies.
  • Department-Based Employees: Please contact your supervisor or the HR Program Manager for Safety & Wellness, Michelle Bailey, if you need help determining whether you should report to work due to illness symptoms or if you have other questions about our mitigation strategies.
