Scholars: Design Your Future

In this foundational first year, students are introduced to the career pathways within their chosen Studio. Beyond providing essential content education and training, the program helps students explore various industries and career options. Through activities and introductory coursework, they develop the foundational knowledge, skills and qualities needed for each pathway. As students deepen their understanding, they are encouraged to collaborate with peers and begin applying the skills they've learned in real-world contexts.

During this stage, students develop workplace readiness skills essential for making informed decisions about their secondary and post-secondary education and training. The Pathway Sequence offers authentic learning experiences that allow students to explore their interests, deepen their understanding, receive feedback, and apply their knowledge. Throughout this process, students are encouraged to collaborate with experts as they refine their grasp of various career pathways.

In their final year, students apply the technical and practical knowledge they’ve gained through work-based learning opportunities and interest-aligned coursework within their chosen pathways. They will articulate their journey through authentic field experiences that reflect their interests. For their culminating Capstone project, students collaborate with an authentic audience to receive feedback, with the option to present their work in a showcase or exhibition.

Pathway Plus courses are aligned with each Studio, offering students the opportunity to extend or deepen their learning. These courses can be taken at any point during high school.
