The Albemarle County Transportation Services Department employs approximately 250 people and operates with an annual budget of approximately $10 million. The Department consists of five different divisions to include student transportation, vehicular maintenance, bus routing, training and administrative services.
Our buses travel over 14,502 miles daily over 750 square miles. The area we cover includes rural, suburban and urban terrain, thus making the routing of buses a challenge.
We are responsible for the repair and maintenance not only of the buses but also all local government and school division vehicles.

Our mission is to provide the safest home-to-school transportation possible to and from school for all students.
