The Building Services Department is responsible for comprehensive maintenance, custodial, grounds, environmental management services as well as capital improvement projects for the School Division's twenty-seven schools and two service facilities. The responsibilities of the department are divided into four teams:
The Administrative Team is responsible for the management of the other teams, as well as the planning and construction of the School Division's Capital Improvement Program. This team ensures that the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of all school facilities provide 21st Century learning environments for the students, staff, and citizens of Albemarle County.
The Custodial Team
provides a comprehensive system of sanitation to the School's facilities and is responsible for executing the Recycling Program within the schools. The team places strong emphasis on building cleanliness and understands the importance of this duty in order to provide a successful learning environment.
*Please note: The "Submit a Maintenance Request" link will be altered on April 1st, 2019 to be password protected and only in use for staff at the County Office Building. Requests for all other locations should be submitted to the lead custodian on site, as this offers the fastest response time for the requestor.
