The Custodial Team provides a comprehensive system of sanitation to the school facilities and is responsible for executing the Recycling Program within the schools.
Albemarle County Public Schools places a high emphasis on building cleanliness and recognizes the importance of each custodian’s efforts toward the success of our students. First and foremost, our students are the most important client we serve; a philosophy that at times may be challenging to remember! Evidence is ever present that our students’ success in the classroom depends on a clean, sanitary environment.
To ensure consistent practices and cleaning procedures, Ms. Pam Snyder created a training manual which is used to certify all custodians. Custodial staff are given ample opportunity to learn the material through classes, on the job training, and video instruction. Testing is then administered for the various topics.
