HOMESCHOOLING IN VIRGINIA

​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​The State of Virginia allows parents to provide homeschooling for their children provided certain state guidelines are met.

For information on homeschooling in Virginia, review the Guidelines for Home Instruction in Virginia provided by the Virginia Department of Education.


IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS REMINDER:

Evidence of Progress Requirement Waived for the 2019-2020 School Year due to COVID-19 School Closure​

Annual Homeschool Registration is due into the Homeschool Office by August 15th

Ways to Register for Homeschool and Submit Evidence in Albemarle County


Online Registration

The following can be done by using the online link:

  • Submit Evidence of Progress
  • Register to Homeschool
  • Register to Homeschool with part-time enrollment
  • Apply for Religious Exemption Status
  • Apply for Certified Tutor Status

Online registration uses a google form. A google account is needed to use this form. If you would like to use the online form but do not currently have a google account, you can easily obtain an accou​nt using your existing email ​address.
