ACPS Interpretation and Translation Guidelines

Cale Kindergarten Orientation
Interpreters (spoken language) and translators (written language) play a vital role in creating partnerships between Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) and our linguistically diverse community. The ESOL program manages recruitment, hiring, and training of interpreters and translators. Each year, the Department of Instruction allocates funds to schools for multilingual communication based on the number of linguistically diverse families at each school. Albemarle County also uses a phone-based interpretation system for emergency situations and languages not covered by county-approved interpreters.

For more details about this Interpretation & Translation Services, including our list of ACPS approved translators, payment rates, and school allocations, ACPS employees should login here for details.
