In celebration of Youth Art Month in March, CitySpace Gallery will be showcasing the portfolios for submission to Reflections, the Governor’s School middle-grades program for visual art. These works represent incredibly hard work and dedication by the student-artists. Each of Albemarle County’s middle schools can submit up to six student portfolios for adjudication. The top 12 scorers will be invited to participate in the acclaimed program.
Reflections is a Summer Regional Governor’s School Program, funded in part by the Virginia Department of Education with local financial and in-kind support. Reflections is a 10-day summer program for 40 middle school students gifted in the visual arts and competitively selected from Charlottesville City, Albemarle, Greene, and Nelson counties, including public and private school students as well as homeschooled students. Reflections provides conceptual and visual art experiences for artistically gifted students in association with their gifted peers.
